Jamaica experienced a minor earthquake on Thursday, prompting reports of brief shaking from residents in several parishes. The tremor was felt in sections of the Kingston Metropolitan Area and nearby communities, according to initial accounts.
The Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, confirmed that seismic activity was recorded, though officials stressed that the quake was low in magnitude and not considered dangerous.
